In 2012 we took over the largely vacant and run-down former Tax office with the dubious moniker of being the 5th ugliest building in the country, according to the Daily Telegraph. Set in the heart of Georgian Penzance with its fine views across Mount’s Bay we only saw the potential for what it might become and what followed was a 10-year journey towards creating a thriving mixed use hub of enterprise and living that we hope will transform the building and its immediate environs.
Vision
Where we are now...
Having stabilised the income from tenants, we set about refurbishing the interior of the building and adding a contemporary copper clad entrance in 2014.
In 2016 the decision was made to address the backlog maintenance issues and to undertake a comprehensive upgrading and enhancement of the concrete facades and replacement of outdated services to be funded in part by adding a new residential element to the building. With consents in place building work commenced in January for completion in December 2021.
