History
The Octagon Baptist Church stood on the site through the 1800s. It was converted in 1910, into a ‘picturedrome’, latterly the Regal Cinema.
The site was cleared in the 1960s to make way for a modernist 6 storey building which housed a Government tax office known as Penloweth House until 2009.
Dubbed one of the country’s ugliest buildings in 2007, by the RIBA, MBT Ltd bought the half-empty building in 2012, and immediately drew up an improvement plan renaming the building PZ360.
Since then MBT has with its tenants invested in external and internal refurbishments to create the largest private business hub in the town which is now home to a diverse range of businesses and organisations.
Further phases of the refurbishment programme are now on site that will see both the exterior and interior of the building transformed further, including the creation of luxury apartments on the top floors. See our PZ360 Escapes page for detail.
